History/Background: Proceed to History part
Personality:

Describing Akashi can be a little bit complicated because he has 2 different personalities. I will split this part into 4: Akashi's Background, Akashi in General, Akashi in Emperor Eye State, and Akashi in Original State.

Akashi's Background:

Akashi grows in an elite family where his father expects him to excel at everything that he does. From a young age he has been pressured with all the stuff ranging from studies to extracurricular activities. These kind of treatment make Akashi develops another self, his original self that hopes for freedom and normal life and his other self that is "created" by his father to become someone who win-it-all. After entering Teiko Basketball club he finds true joy in playing with his teammates and drives his "other-self" further away. But as his teammates awaken their own powers and the change of coach who expects Teiko to win every tournaments, Akashi begins to feel the pressure again. The pressure to win-it-all and the pressure that his teammates will leave him behind.

His anxiety grows each day until at one point one of his teammate almost defeats him. The burden he has on his shoulder that labels him as someone who never loses to anybody begins to awaken his "other-self" that is originally created to be someone who wins everything. His other self takes control of his original self at that time and since then he has been controlling Akashi as everyone expects him to be. His real self is hidden inside, locked, and his original self decides that he will not take control until his other self experiences losing. After all, his other self is made to fulfill the sole purpose of winning.

The breaking point between Akashi's original self and Akashi's other self is when he faces his biggest fear of losing. When Akashi is exposed to a situation where his reputation as a perfect being is challenged, he begins to show his fragile side. He will get confused, make many mistakes, and everybody can clearly see that he is not his "own self" that time. That is exemplified when Seirin is about to catch up to Rakuzan and almost beats Akashi's team. Akashi makes a lot of misplays and errors which are unusual for someone like him. Even his teammates shout and yell at him and even asking who he is at that time. After that, a catalyst is needed in order for him to change to his other side. Usually it is a comment by one of his friends that doubts who he is and his performance. Just like when he is about to lose match against Murasakibara, the catalyst is his teammates saying that he is going to lose and when Mayuzumi questions about who is he at the court during Rakuzan vs Seirin match.

In the extra series, it is also revealed that Akashi can change his persona by simply asking his "other self" to take over. However, both personalities must be willing to deny their own pride to ask for the other's help. Otherwise it won't happen.

Akashi in General:

Akashi is shown to be a very intelligent person. He might be the smartest person in the series. This is shown in the case that Akashi never loses to anybody in playing shogi which requires high tactical skills and planning. This trait is not only evident when he is playing shogi, but also when he is playing basketball. Just as he faces Shutoku High in Winter Cup Semifinal Akashi is shown to have intentionally “slowed down” for the first 2 quarters just to observe the strengths and weaknesses of his opponent. Right after that he mercilessly blows his enemy as soon as he recognizes their loop hole. Even Midorima and Takao state that they are not aware that Akashi is setting a trap for them.

Aside from his intelligence, Akashi is also a very strong and charismatic leader. This is exemplified as he can control the Generation of Miracles’ members even if they are full of themselves and really prideful people. In fact, Generation of Miracles only listens to Akashi’s order seriously but they usually ignore other people. The series shows this when Midorima easily lends his scissors to Akashi but refuses to lend it to Murasakibara even if he asks for the scissors first. Not only that, even when Akashi is playing on Rakuzan High he directly becomes the team’s captain. When Hyuga sees this he can already see that Akashi has a strong leadership aura as it is considered a disgrace for the seniors when a junior leads the team. Not to mention that it is the 3 Uncrowned Kings out of all people.

Despite all of his talents, Akashi is different than Aomine. While Aomine becomes too skilled until he intentionally skips practices, Akashi never stops training even if people regard him as the “perfect” point guard. In fact, Akashi is one of the most hardworking person in the series. That being said it is because Akashi will do anything to achieve victory and he keeps on training to keep himself fit and winning.

His motto is "Quick and Decisive" making him one of the most efficient player on court or even organizing a plan.

Akashi in Emperor Eye State:

In this state, Akashi can be described as a merciless dictator. He gladly does anything in order to achieve his goals. He easily disposes Haizaki from the team stating that he is useless and can only cause trouble for the team. He also shows high hostility to someone who disobeys him. This is shown when Akashi attacks Kagami with scissors brutally when he refuses to leave the GoM alone for a meeting. Akashi also states that he will gladly “kill” those who oppose his orders.

Akashi is also shown to be very full of himself at this state. He usually uses statement like “My orders are absolute” or “I, who always win, am always right.” These statements may sound very arrogant to those who hear it, but rather than arrogance, it’s more like his pride. It is true that up until now Akashi never experiences any failures in his life yet and no one has proven him wrong once. Therefore, Akashi always believes that he knows everything and what he does is always correct.

Akashi in Original State:

This is the complete opposite of Akashi in Emperor Eye State. In this state, Akashi is shown to be a gentle and caring person. He still retains his winning mentality but overall he shows less malice compared to his Emperor State. He is shown to have a high respect to his teammates and constantly encouraging them to be better. Moreover, he can also be very talkative and nags to his teammates, even in little stuffs like eating. Aomine even regards Akashi as Generation of Miracles’ Mother because of his behavior.

Compared to his Emperor State, Akashi in his Original State is more modest and down to earth person. While Akashi in his Emperor State will boast about his greatness and expect people to admire him, Akashi in his Original State is less likely to boast upon his victory and when people praise him he will not overextend the praises.

Overall, Akashi has dual personality. He can be either a despicable absolute dictator or a down to earth considerate leader. You can feel the difference once you encounter both of his personalities. It depends on the situation. If he is cornered or faces any despair, he will change to his other self. It is also important to note that each of his personalities can develop through time. It is shown in the Extra series where even his Emperor Eye state becomes more considerate and gentle. He even acknowledges his weaknesses and is willing to remove himself in order to merge his power with the original Akashi. His last expression of gratitude shows that CR and moments can change him for the better.

[note: Akashi will be in his Emperor Eye State when coming into the game. Through CR and emotional moments however he can switch to his original state or even merge both.]

Skills/Abilities:

Emperor Eye: Akashi possesses an eye that can read every single movement by a human that includes breathing, heartbeat, muscle constraints, etc. Having this ability he can predict what the person will do next and thus nullify their effects or even use it against them to perform techniques such as ankle break.

Complete Emperor Eye: This is the true power of Akashi combining two of his ability, the immeasurable court vision and the Emperor Eye itself. Having this ability one can say Akashi has no blindspot available for him, except reaching an area beyond his physical abilities or nullify heavy damages that are beyond human measure.

Magic Weapon:

Regis, The Scythe of Judgment - A very conventional, magical scythe that revolves around magic stone inside the upper part of the scythe. Practically a weapon with a simple skill of knocking 1 enemy 50cm around the user for 30cm away for .4 seconds. Useless enough until the user can master the secret inside the magic stone. By the end of the stage, the user can paralyze any enemy within 3m range of the user for a random possibilities ranging from 2-4 seconds. It is highly unlikely for the user to get 4 seconds stun, but more likely to get the 2 - 3 seconds. The user must pin down the scythe to the ground and invoke its name to fully activate its effect. Cost moderate-high mana for each use, which will limit the use of the weapon up to 3 times per battle/war.

Carrier:

Vlad, The White Pegasus - The loyal companion of Akashi. Very graceful and stunning, though it is not as big as you think it is. Fairly quiet and calm.

Sample:

The wind does not blow smoothly today. The weather is bad, with black clouds scattering above the sky and liquid starts pouring little by little towards the grounds. Today will be the 3rd battle against the Empire and truth to be told, things do not move smoothly. Blanc has lost one third of its prowess, meaning they might not survive the next full blown attack from the Empire. Akashi's leading the Eastern Army which has suffered the most damage among all armies due to the heavy aggression they put.

"Well then, I suppose we can expect a full scale attack from the Empire in the next battle..." Akashi opens the war council.

"This is nonsense! We will just get slaughtered by the Empire army!" So many cries and despair appear on the war table. Most of them are thinking to flee rather fighting the Empire head on.

“Stop that ramblings, weakling. We are not here to discuss how are we going to get slaughtered. The Empire is indeed strong, but fear not, for I am here.”

Akashi starts to open up the map. The Empire has seized most of the neutral land in Gris, making it easier for them to send reinforcements. However, Akashi finds some openings to exploit the Empire’s Army. He proposed that half of the defensive magic army stay intact in the fortress, while others move away to cut the supplies and reinforcements in certain areas.

Most of them disagree, saying that with only half of our army Blanc will not last long in the battle.

“We have the high ground advantage. There’s no need for us to fear the army. The pass route will be easily intercepted by the other army, so we can cut their supplies.”

Some of the war generals stand up and point to Akashi, stating that he wants to make it as if we are a suicide squad, waiting for none other than death. Akashi stands up too, takes a few steps and put one of his hands on one of the General’s shoulder, and puts them down.

“Lower your head. I did not remember asking for your opinions. Those who has the eye of a coward does not even have a place here. You may blame me if we lost this battle, but I am staking my life in it, that we will win this one. Definitely.”

The air changes. Most of the people inside seems to be calmer and more focused. They believe in Akashi. After all, Akashi also put some spies inside the Empire’s camp, waiting for a signal to blitz through the Empire from their own base. This strategy is flawless. The Empire will only fight with brute strength, and that will be their own demise.

After a lengthy explanation for the war tactics, Akashi’s put on his robe and takes out Regis, indicating that he is ready to fight. As he steps outside the room, he said:

“The Empire has brought hell upon Blanc. We as the front liners have seen that hell. If we stop here, what we see will continue reaching the heart of Blanc. Which is, where our family lies, our hope and security lies. Those who wants their beloved experiences the hell itself are free to flee from this room and go home.”

A slight pause.

“However, those who are willing to fight for the glory of our nation to stop the horror, follow me. I am absolute. There’s no way the Empire can defeat me.”

With those words, the despair looks of the people inside becomes the fire that burns to crush the Empire. Steadily, each one of them grabs their own equipment and joins Akashi for the victory.
